Crop for any platform in seconds
Different platforms expect different image dimensions, and an image that looks great on one can be awkwardly cropped on another. This free online cropper includes presets for the most common needs — square 1:1, widescreen 16:9, classic 4:3 and 3:2 — alongside dedicated social sizes for Instagram posts, stories and reels, YouTube thumbnails, X headers, LinkedIn banners and Facebook covers.
Free-form, circle and rounded crops
Beyond fixed ratios, you can crop free-form to grab exactly the region you want, or switch to a circle or rounded-corner shape for avatars, logos and profile pictures. Circular and rounded crops produce transparent corners, so export them as PNG or WebP to keep the transparency.
Combine cropping with other edits
Cropping is just the start. After you set your crop you can resize to exact pixel dimensions, apply colour adjustments and filters, add a watermark, or convert to WebP for a smaller file. For a full walkthrough, read our guide on cropping an image for Instagram.
Your privacy comes first
Many online croppers upload your photos to a server. This one does not. Every operation runs in your browser, which means it is fast, works offline once loaded, and keeps your images entirely private.
FAQ
Questions & answers
How do I crop an image to a square?
Open the editor, go to the Crop tab and choose the 1:1 ratio (or the Instagram Post preset). Drag to reposition, then download.
Can I crop an image into a circle?
Yes. In the Crop tab choose the Circle shape. Export as PNG or WebP so the transparent corners are preserved.
Will cropping reduce the quality of my image?
Cropping only removes pixels outside the selection, so the remaining area keeps its original quality. Exporting as PNG or a high-quality WebP avoids any additional compression.
Is the cropper free and private?
Completely. There is no sign-up and your image is processed locally with the Canvas API — it never leaves your device.
